Welcome to High Thyme FARMacy, our online herbal apothecary/soapothecary, and esthetishop, operating from our herb farm & apiary located in the northwestern base of the Great Smoky Mountains. 

High Thyme FARMacy specializes in natural skincare. We use high-quality, skin-safe, environmentally friendly ingredients derived from plants and sourced from nature. Our mission is to provide the highest quality organic herbal products while focusing on sustainability, which means we use earth-friendly methods to grow and harvest our herbs, which we then hand-craft into medicines, soaps, salves, and more.

We (Lynnette, and her husband of 14 years, Mike) are fanatic followers of the Grateful Dead (i.e., “Deadheads”), avid gardeners, aspiring herbalists, natural living enthusiasts, bee whisperers, and citizen scientists. We co-created High Thyme FARMacy in May of 2021. Our love for each other, our love of growing and using fresh herbs, and our love of soap-making (born out of necessity) turned into High Thyme FARMacy. High Thyme FARMacy began out of a desire to help other people who, like us, just want to return to a simple, more natural way of living. 

The Grateful Dead represents more than just music to us. Peace, love, and community - being open-minded, free-spirited, and connected with nature are some of the values shared by most Deadheads. These are the same values that we hold dear and try to embody in our company, and many of the products we offer reflect that passion. 

Our vision for High Thyme FARMacy is to help other people connect with nature and learn about the benefits of herbs while providing safe, sustainable products that improve people’s lives. We believe in the Law of Karma – that if we give what we can, we shall receive what we need. 

We believe natural skincare shouldn't be a rare indulgence, but an everyday luxury. Our products are effective, long-lasting, and reasonably priced so you can afford to pamper yourself every day! Using our products will not only leave your skin looking healthy and feeling nourished - using our products will also help make our planet a bit healthier. We use fresh, organic herbs that are hand-crafted into medicines, soaps, salves, and more. We also emphasize sustainability in our business practices - from the ingredients we use to how we package and ship our products.

Mike and I have always loved cooking together. Our love for growing and using fresh herbs in our meals expanded into our love for growing and using fresh herbs in our skincare products, first by chance, and then out of necessity. We ordered seeds for our herb garden(s). When the seeds arrived, there was a sample of the most beautiful, all-natural handmade soap included with the order – we were delighted! The soap was patchouli and orange, it had real patchouli in it and it smelled heavenly! Not only that, Mike and our youngest daughter have both battled with eczema all their lives, but this wonderful, new little soap sample seemed to help their irritated skin, almost immediately! We knew we had to order more of this soap to better test our theory. However, when we went to order it, that soap was $15.00 a bar! After some deliberation, we ordered the soap. It was worth it. However, as happy as we were with our new purchase, we knew if we were going to continue using natural soap regularly, we were going to have to find a way to do better than a $15/bar price tag. We began our mission to affordably and ethically source the finest ingredients to formulate soaps that would complement our health, not complicate it. The more research we did, the more hyper-aware (and alarmed) we became, not only about the ingredients in the “soaps” we were buying but the ingredients in ALL the products we were buying and putting onto our bodies every day. We began our mission to replace all of the chemical-laden skin and hair care products in our home with natural ones, one by one. It was this undertaking that led us to start formulating our natural skincare products in our kitchen, along with our natural soaps. 

Mike and I became interested in herbs and their health benefits and medicinal uses years ago, and we were conscious of what we were putting IN our bodies, but we weren't so cognizant of what we were putting ON our bodies. Good health doesn’t stop at what we eat and drink. It's also vitally important that we take care of our skin by using natural, healthy products. 

Your skin is your body's largest organ, and what you put on your skin is absorbed into your bloodstream. The average woman uses 12 products per day that contain over 168 different chemicals, many of which have not been tested for safety. Herbs, on the other hand, have incredible properties that can be used for a multitude of purposes, and a low amount of toxicity, which makes them ideal for use in maintaining the health of our skin. Herbs can keep our skin balanced, clear, and nourished, which leaves us looking radiant, luminous, and healthy. Plus, we reap the benefits from the herb’s medicinal properties.

Our knowledge and love for herbs are what sets us apart from other skincare brands. We know how to use herbs and essential oils to benefit our skin. Not only do we formulate all of our products, but we also grow the majority of the herbs used in them right here on our farm.
